2026 Spring Executive Board Meeting

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
ORANGE BEACH, AL.
February 8, 2026
Called to order: 9:00 am
Moment of Silence
Roll Call: All present except V.P. Southeast Amanda Cummings and Past President Jose Bose
Treasurer Report: No longer doing spread sheets everything is going to Quick Books. $20,154.96. Trial account looks pretty good. Chad explained the steps we have taken to become tax exempt. Jim Nichols made motion to except the Treasurer’s and Bob Dudley seconded.
Secretary Report: Currently 221 members. In 2025 we certified 180 teams. We have 38 certified Judges in the Region. Received the insurance policy from Sportsman covering our Executive Board from civil lawsuits. Chad Whitaker made the motion to except the Secretary’s report and seconded by Cory Bowling.
Report of Officers:
Bob Dudley had a suggestion on how to combine Judges from P.D.1 with Detection and get it done quicker. He went on to say the reason for the downtick in P.D.1 is the rules changes for the recall.
Susan Rogers suggested we create a program to send to the hos of each Regional Trial to gather registration information.
Jim Nichols updated the Board on the 2027 Regional in Charlotte County and mentioned U.S.F. may be interested in hosting the Trials in 2028.
Old Business:
Chad explained what is to come with the tax exemption and how it may cove all three states, Florida, Georga, and Alabama that we have members. It’s a learning process.
New Business:
Cory Bowling brought up a possible rule change for Firearms certification.
Good of the association:
Voted to approve the “Jim Nichols” Top Narcotics Dog award and the “Paul Koing” Top Explosive Dog award at our Regional Trials.
